The why

Following 33 years in ministry at Covenant Church and 36 years coaching within the Howard County sports community, God has opened a door for me to a unique opportunity with Southeast NC FCA. It is a seamless fusion of sport and faith. My life has been deeply enriched by the countless athletes and families I have been blessed to serve during my years in ministry and coaching.

As a missionary with FCA, I would love your support in making this mission possible. Because FCA is 100% self-funded, your generosity truly makes a difference in the longevity and depth of impact I look to have in the Southeast NC Region.

Just as God has called me into this ministry role, I am trusting Him to move in the hearts of others to invest in this work as well. Would you join me in asking God how He might be leading you to partner with this ministry?

For me, the purpose of sports transcends the game itself. Sports help to shape identity, build character, and teach values, especially during some of the most formative years of life. I’ve seen firsthand how the huddle, the field and the car ride to and from become places where young men and women figure out who they are and who they want to become.

This opportunity allows me to step into the space where athletes, coaches and families are investing their time and passion, and it creates opportunities for them to encounter the transforming power of Jesus right where life happens.

I believe every life has a purpose. When Christ shows up on and off the field, we begin to realize that our purpose is bigger than simply a win, a loss or the experience of the game.

My mission with FCA is to foster the building of legacies—legacies where skills are developed, faith is passed down, lives are changed, and the impact keeps going long after we are gone.

Together, we can influence lives and help transform the world through coaches and athletes.

• Coaches leading with Christ-centered character
• Athletes growing as disciples who multiply their faith
• Parents embracing sports as a tool for spiritual formation
• God receiving glory as His Kingdom advances through sport

IMPACT

FCA empowers coaches in Southeast Carolina to lead their programs with faith-based integrity. By providing high-level spiritual support and leadership training, we help them mentor the next generation of athletes both on and off the field.

Coaches are among the most influential leaders in a young person’s life.

Through the ministry of FCA, we are able to:

  • Train coaches to develop the athlete as a whole—body, mind, and spirit

  • Equip coaches to lead with Christ-centered character and servant leadership

  • Build coaching communities rooted in faith, accountability, and discipleship

One discipled coach impacts generations of athletes.

Our mission is to see every athlete impacted BY Jesus Christ so that they can be an influence FOR Jesus Christ. Through athlete-led huddles and community sports programs, we offer young men and women the tools to compete with purpose and to find their identity built upon a spiritual foundation.

At the heart of FCA, we strive to:

  • Share the Gospel in authentic, relational ways

  • Disciple athletes to grow in faith and obedience

  • Equip young men and women to influence teammates, campuses, and communities for Christ

Our goal is not just to become Christian athletes—but to become disciple-makers.

FCA seeks to bridge the gap between school campuses and Christian communities. By cultivating environments where faith and performance intersect, we hope to build a legacy of character and excellence across Southeast Carolina, supported by a network of dedicated staff, parents and community working together.

Through this ministry, we aim to encourage a shift from a pressure-centered to a purpose-centered mindset.  Every parent wants the best for their children but sports culture often emphasizes performance over formation and development.

FCA encourages parents and families to:

  • See sports as a pathway for spiritual and character development

  • Learn how to spiritually coach their children

  • Partner with coaches to reinforce Christ-centered values at home
